The experts at Tattoodo, the world's largest tattoo community, have put together a list of the 10 most popular styles of 2019 so far based on their 6.6m members. Co-founder Ami James, who also stars on Miami Ink, said: "The main styles - American traditional, Japanese style, black & grey, Polynesian style, and so on - those are timeless. "They’ve been around forever and they will continue to be around forever. But there are also styles that will keep evolving every year, just like art on the wall does

"3D tattoos feel like a really new thing, but we’ve been seeing it on paper for a long time, so think about how all those things that people are doing on paper, as graffiti, or as contemporary art; all those things can turn into their own styles of tattooing and then continue evolving from there. "It’s exciting to be a part of it and to connect with the innovators to exchange ideas on it all." “These days, the viral effect of social media can launch a crazy looking tattoo to the mainstream, but this might not take into account the quality of the art or whether this tattoo will even last more than a couple years."

Using fine line details, geometric shapes, or illustrative icons, Minimalist tattoos may be simple, but they are often marvelous.

This particular use of geometry focuses on patterns and shapes found in the natural world, with ties to the fascinating symbolism of sacred geometry.
